Kay schrock - about me

Feeling lost in the kitchen? Want delicious food that makes folks ask for the recipe?

Here you will learn to make that good home cookin’!

I was raised by a mother who was a great cook, baker, and homemaker. I learned to cook like her: from scratch. Down-home recipes and comfort foods are my jam! For me, there’s something therapeutic about stirring and kneading and simmering. I enjoy playing music in the background while I cook and bake. I test each recipe multiple times before I share it, so you can be assured that it will turn out properly!

Working with me:

I do very limited sponsored posts, product reviews, and giveaways. If you would like to work with me, please send an email to: aranchmom at gmail dot com.

For guest post inquiries: Send me a message or email and I will email you the submission guidelines.

More about me:

I have 5 kids; 2 boys and 3 girls. I homeschool them, cook copious amounts of food, and work on this blog in my spare minutes!

We live in a tiny village in remote Wyoming, a place of extreme weather and cowboys and wildlife.

I enjoy gardening, reading, and photography. Hiking, camping and horses are also some of my favorite hobbies.

Why ‘A Ranch Mom’?

We lived on cattle ranches in Wyoming for 12 years, my husband working as a cowboy. Then in the summer of 2019, we left the ranch, and my husband began a career as a Wyoming State Trooper. Here we are at the Wyoming Supreme Court Building, after he was commissioned as a State Trooper!

You know, I don’t know! There are some nice hotels in Laramie. I don’t know what is in Rawlins. There is a historic motel in Elk Mountain buT i haven’t stayed any of those places, so I can’t personally vouch for them. 🙂

There is a very nice, quaint, western themed motel in Rawlins: The Rawlins Western Lodge.
        (Formerly the Key Motel)
Great rates, simple family run place.
Not a lot of amenities, but plenty of places to dine close by.
I love it because of the western ranch paintings, decor and furnishings.
It reminds me of the motels we stayed in on road trips out west back in the 60’s.
I realize this is a bit late but maybe it’ll help someone in the future.
Thanks for your wonderful faith inspired writings.
        God Bless You and Yours

Thank you Brian! I will have to look it up next time I’m in Rawlins.

Thanks for the “you are worth the effort” article. I have children whom are like the calves who want to go through fences and this article reminded me of how persistent the Lord is and that I can adopt his nature with the calves before me. The solid persistence, the daily pointing to them that Christ is the better way. The Lord did not give up on me and teaches me new things every day – so I can do the same by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Thanks?

Hi Kay! Hope you had a blessed Christmas and that the New Year will be better than the current one! I’m no longer on Instagram or Facebook. I was hoping I saved your directions for cooking a frozen turkey, but if I did, I can’t find it. Can you help me out? 🙂

Those instructions were in an email I sent just before Thanksgiving. 🙂 Happy New Year!
