My husband owns a custom saddle and leather-working shop. He makes custom saddles, chaps, and tack. Give him a call or text at (307) 460-0909 or email him at: ckcustomleather@yahoo.com Here are a few saddles he has made:
I enjoy making custom cinchas as well. Here are few I have made:
Price List:
Basic 17-strand tied cinch: $75.00 (includes diamonds of any color)
2-tone, 19+ strand, or extra detailing: $90.00
Woven, Roper-style 27-strand cinch: $100.00
Shu-fly: add $25.00
I can get most colors to work with, just email me to discuss options.
those are beautiful and detailed saddles!! Wish I could buy one!!
Cliff does an excellent job at repairing also. My husbands saddle was involved in a horse wreck that broke the tree and cliff put in a new tree and totally rebuilt the saddle. My husband likes it better now than he did when it was new. We highly recomend this tallented leather worker.

Hi Kay,
I would like to order a cincha. Could you please contact me. I am particularly interested in the turquoise color.
Thank you,
Laurie
I was wondering who you do the 2 tone mohair cinch. I would like to learn it for mini versions that i do out of cross stitch thread. I make them for Breyer horses and just only know how to do the basic one color then add the d rings and the diamonds. thank you for any helpful tips you can give.

Hi Jennifer! Really, the two-tone are pretty difficult to explain. You might try googling ‘Artcords’ and buy their 2nd video. That’s how I learned. I would love to help if I had the time, but right now I just don’t. I’m so sorry!
I completely understand 🙂 I will have to send you pictures someday. I loved the tutorials you gave on youtube they were helpful. Thank you so much for the 2 tone cinch making information. I will go take a look.

Hi Kay,
How think is the leather use to make the saddle?
How long does one saddle take to make?
I’m guessing about a 1/4 inch thick, some places, but thinner in others. My husband only makes saddles in his spare tie, so it takes him 6 months to a year.
They’re really beautiful. A true labor of love.
I must admit, I’m a bit dissapointed! I’d assumed this blog would be more about the trials & tribulations that we women who work as buckaroo’s, ranchers, or day cowboys, go through, in what was once, traditionally a man’s world!
We often have to be better, faster, & tougher, just to be acknowledged, & treated as equals, on a regualr basis. (Most of us already have recipes, & we still get to do the cooking too)!
Your husband does make some very nice saddle, as well…
I’m sorry you don’t enjoy my blog. I day work part-time, too. I know that women are often treated differently than men. But this blog is not aimed at ‘being equal’. I am a firm believer that we are special because we are different – not because we are all the same. 🙂 I enjoy being treated as a lady – not as one of the guys. I share recipes for the gals who request and enjoy them, a lot do.
I hope you enjoyed some photos and possibly stories – just an ordinary ranch wife here, living my life to honor God. 🙂
