This week we had an ice storm. It was weird. It was basically a light, freezing rain for 2 days. It coated everything with ice, and was gray and drab.
On the second day, I bundled the baby up and begged a ride off My Cowboy. He had to do some feeding, so we rode along. It felt good to get out of the house and get some fresh air.
Ice covered everything from the truck windshield to the round bales to the trees.
And the grass. We took a bale of hay to the cull calves first.
Yes, my dears. You shall have some hay to eat. Have patience!
Corral isn’t long enough to unroll the whole bale so we left some of it still rolled.
It was a strange landscape. When we lived in Missouri years ago, they had many heavy ice storms. Trees broke, wrecks abounded, you could barely step outside your door without slipping. It isn’t as common out here, though.
I was glad to see the sun, later that day. As much as I enjoy gray, dreary days, the sun is so cheery!
Have a good day and look to the Son.
