It can be difficult to buy Christmas Gifts for teen boys. I have struggled to find that perfect gift, and here are some of my best ideas that won’t fall flat on Christmas morning. From science to music, we got you covered!
1. Music
Does your teen enjoy playing an instrument? If so, he might enjoy a new book of music to play. Or accessories like new strings, capo, etc. If you aren’t sure what to get, you can go to a music store and ask for recommendations. The clerk will likely have some good ideas!
2. Sunglasses
Everyone needs good quality sunglasses, and I’m sure every boy will enjoy a pair of these nice sunglasses from Bass Pro!
3. Clothes
Some teen boys love great clothes and some do not. Either way, they will probably enjoy a nice jacket in their favorite style, or maybe from their favorite sports team. If he likes to dress up often, get him some nice shoes or a vest.
We do a lot of hunting and this puffy jacket would be a great Christmas gift for a teen boy! You can probably find other items too, like nice gloves or socks for stuffers.
4. Movie basket
Most teens enjoy a good movie and a basket of junk food! Or you could write a simple coupon for a movie at a theater, complete with snack voucher. Just type and print or handwrite “Good For One In-Theater Movie & Snack” and then when he opens it, you can explain that you will take him to his choice of new release and will buy his favorite snacks. Of course, this requires follow-up on your part, but I think it was one of my teen son’s favorite gifts!
Another idea that is much more expensive would be something like a Nintendo Switch, which I hear is very popular! I haven’t used one myself, but I can see the allure!
5. Journal and Pen
Does your son like to sketch or write? Then a journal is just the thing. My son is quite the artist, so I bought him a neat leather journal with blank pages. I don’t think he writes in it – rather, he doodles and sketches. Pick up a nice pen to go with it.
6. Books
Books is one thing my son would never choose, because he isn’t a big reader. But, in this house, reading isn’t optional. 😉 I have learned that with a bit of creativity I can find books that even he enjoys. Joke books, interesting facts, world records, crazy inventions, things like that.
7. Problem puzzles
Those funny mind-boggling puzzles are great add-ins for a stocking or to fill a gift basket. Teen boys enjoy these brain-teasers for some reason.
8. Sports gear
My son isn’t really into sports, but if yours is – well, I think that is a great way to go! Buy him those special shoes or jersey or whatever. If he enjoys hunting, you could get him a pair of nice binoculars. Try these Quality Binoculars .
9. Experiences
Buy him a fun activity and give him the tickets. My son absolutely loved the escape room! Depending on interests, you could do tickets to a laser tag with him and a few of his friends or siblings, tickets to a science museum, concert, shooting range, or art show.
A kind of different experience is night sky watching. It may sound boring, but most kids will truly enjoy staring deep into our universe through a good telescope.
10. Sound-proof headphones
My son just loves his Beats headphones! They were a gift from a friend. He wears them any time he has a boring chore like washing dishes or chopping firewood or riding with the family for hours on a road trip. Haha! I think there are several different brands, so you can find on that fits your budget. Gaming headphones will definitely be a winner.
Bonus gift idea:
Who doesn’t love a good nightlight? Your teen may love this as a little extra.
There you have my top ten Christmas gifts for teen boys! Some of these may not suit your teen or your family style. But maybe you can use it for a starting place to think of new ideas.
