Today marks 6 weeks since my brain surgery to remove a meningioma tumor. The surgery went well, the neurosurgeon was able to remove all of the tumor, and I healed up beautifully!
I am so thankful to God for caring for me and bringing me through surgery. I don’t deserve His mercy, but He is a God of endless love and mercy.
This morning the cowboys were sorting some cows, so I walked out to snap a few pictures. It feels good to be free from restrictions – able to do whatever I like! 😀 I was planning to go on a longer walk today, but it was windy and cold.
This is early spring in Wyoming – no green things growing yet, but sometimes it rains instead of snowing, and the guys are starting to prep for calving and summer activities. Sorting, fixing snow-flattened fences, etc.
Over the weekend, I spent several hours staring at my favorite home decor/organizing blog: The Sunny Side Up Blog.
Erin has a beautiful home, and her organizing posts make me want to toss about half of what I own! Haha! I have decided that I am seriously going to downsize out belongings. (Have I said that before?! hmm. perhaps)
I know that my frugal nature tends to make me a somewhat of a hoarder. I mean, not totally, but when you live in a small house, you simply must keep belongings at a minimum. After perusing Erin’s blog, I then went on Pinterest and searched minimalist pins till I was glassy-eyed.
It was fun. Unrealistic, but fun.
See, you have to have wide, open, room plans and hardwood floors to be minimalist. (sarcasm alert) Old mobile homes with flowery wallpaper and gray carpet don’t exactly fit in with a white Instagram feed, now do they? Hehe!
Anyways, I know my real life won’t match a magazine anytime soon, but then, that has never been my goal. I want a warm, cozy, inviting place to call home. I want lots of books to pull out, fuzzy blankets to wrap in, pretty coffee mugs to sip from.
But it doesn’t have to be stuffed and cluttered. So, my goal this summer is to toss or give away as much stuff as possible.
How about you? Have you ever looked around and just felt ‘fed up’?! Did you ever do a major downsizing of stuff? Tell me about it!
