This tender Crockpot Elk Roast is so easy, with delicious gravy to pour over mashed potatoes or pasta. You can start it in the morning and it will be ready by dinner. My kids enjoy this easy elk recipe so much. It really doesn't need a 'recipe', but I will include the printable version so you can print it out, if you like.

Key Ingredients

  • Elk Roast. Choose a roast that is a minimum of 3lbs. It should be trimmed, and I recommend a "rump roast" for best effect.
  • Cream of Chicken Soup. Any brand will work.
  • Onions. I recommend yellow onions, but any will do. One onion is fine.

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients an quantities.

How to make Crockpot Elk Roast with gravy

sliced onions and raw elk meat in crockpot
  1. Step 1: slice an onion, separate the rings and place in the bottom of a crockpot. I use a yellow onion but you can use whatever kind you like. Next, cut the elk roast into chunks and place over the onions.

Hi I’m excited to try this with the elk in our freezer. I wanted to clarify; do I use one can of condensed cream of chicken soup?
